Intaction | Our Mission | Our Founder | Our Directors

Intaction is a educational and political advocacy organization concerned about circumcision and the advantages of keeping babies intact or uncircumcised. Intaction promotes an intact positive message so people understand and value the anatomical and psychological importance of an intact body. We seek to raise awareness on this issue in order to end non-therapeutic medicalized infant circumcision and female genital cutting – female genital mutilation.

Intaction was founded in 2010 out of the strong concern that the American “fee for service” medical and insurance business, its trade associations, PACS, and lobbyists, “the medical industry complex,” were intent on escalating their promotion of infant circumcision. Hospitals, insurance companies, and doctors profit from circumcisions. However Americans were starting to challenge the conventional wisdom of circumcising their sons. Seventeen states dropped Medicaid coverage for infant circumcision, deeming it unnecessary and cosmetic. The medical industry complex and its surrogates responded by launching a counterattack to prevent this threat to their income streams and maintain the status quo they built over many decades. (The most conspicuous evidence of this effort culminated in the 2012 AAP Circumcision Policy Statement – which blatantly stated three times, “Financing Newborn Male recommendation: newborn male circumcision warrant(s) third-party (insurance) reimbursement of the procedure.”)

This reach for profits was inflicting unnecessary pain and trauma upon innocent babies born in America. Circumcision places PROFIT over HIPPOCRATIC OATH. Circumcision damages and disfigures men’s bodies. Circumcision can affect quality of life. Circumcision can inflict emotional and psychological harm.

Intaction’s Inception

Founder Anthony Losquadro combined his leadership and marketing skills from both his military and business career to create a game changing organization. He amassed a reference library on circumcision, its history, anatomy, and hundreds of medical studies, data, articles, and books, from 1890 to the present day. He would apply that knowledge to this challenging cause where big money, habituated cultural practices, cognitive dissonance, sex, religion, and human rights are intertwined.

Intaction is funded via private donations and volunteer assistance primarily by men and women that have been adversely affected by genital cutting. We promote the benefits of an intact body and the harm of genital cutting. We seek to achieve our goals through education, advocacy, and activism. We empower our members by providing them a constructive way to address the physical and emotional harm that was inflicted on them.

Action is in our name. Foreskin is in our DNA. We accept the challenges of creating change, we meet our goals, and then chart new ones. We have no highly paid directors or staff like some big name popular causes. In fact, we are not paid at all. Our compensation is the satisfaction we receive from the many people whose lives we have touched. We help assure parents that keeping their son intact was the enlightened decision. We’ve helped many babies to stay intact. We help build body positive confidence in intact men so they can appreciate their own natural body. We’ve helped many cut men, essentially victims of genital cutting, to feel like they now have a voice, when as infants they didn’t have a choice.

Intaction is the only intactivist organization with a large full time mobile education truck which not only displays our intact body positive campaign, but transports our exhibits and materials for the many events we host.

Our past events have included disruptive protests, parade contingents, demonstrations, parental education events, and our celebratory event IMAGINE. We hold constant outdoor events with our mobile education unit to engage our fellow Americans. These exchanges provide a unique opportunity for us to keep a finger on the pulse of public opinion. We also use print media, social media, and online platforms to engage people with our ideas.

Intaction’s Mission Statement and Beliefs:

That every child has the inalienable right to an intact body. The foreskin is a special and unique part of the body that serves several important functions. We believe foreskin possesses “The Four Powers”: Pleasure, Protection, Lubrication, and Connection (between people and with oneself.) Both males and females are born with foreskin (equivalent to the clitoral hood). Even cut men were born with a foreskin, even if it was taken from them.  Everyone has a stake in this issue and a reason to get involved.

Intaction promotes an intact positive message so people understand and value the anatomical and psychological importance of an intact body. We seek to raise awareness on this issue in order to stop non-therapeutic, ritualized, medicalized infant circumcision and female genital cutting.

We believe everyone is harmed by circumcision (genital cutting), including boys & girls, mothers & fathers, and doctors & nurses.

  • Circumcision harms babies due to the stress and trauma from genital cutting often done with little or no anesthesia.
  • Circumcision harms men due to the trauma, loss of body & genital autonomy, sexual dysfunction, psychological damage, and loss of anatomically functional erogenous tissue.
  • Circumcision affects women due to the loss of sexual function from themselves or from their partners.
  • Circumcision affects parents when they must endure the lifelong grief stemming from the realization of having harmed their child.
  • Circumcision affects doctors & medical staff because many are forced to perform this harmful act to babies against their conscience.

We seek to give those that feel they have been harmed by circumcision the ability to contribute to the cessation of this abhorrent practice. Together we can forge a path to a better world for future intact generations. All are welcome to join with us.

Anthony Losquadro from Intaction

San Francisco CA.

Anthony Losquadro is the founder, Director, and media spokesperson of Intaction. He founded the organization to counter the influence of the U.S. healthcare system that has a vested financial interest in the promotion of genital cutting. He also wanted to give children a voice over their body autonomy, and to raise awareness on the importance of an intact body. He says, “Once I understood what our society was doing to babies every hour of the day, and what was done to me, I realized this had to be stopped. The thought of torturously removing this important body part from innocent babies became reprehensible to me.”

Anthony has spoken before the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Senate Joint Committee about proposed circumcision legislation.

He told the Washington Post, “Like any change in culture, it takes time,” he said, “but I think people realize that babies are born intact and you don’t need to correct a perfectly functional body part with surgery.”

Anthony has lectured at the 15th International Symposium on Genital Autonomy and Children’s Rights in San Francisco on May 7th 2018, and presented “Maximum Impact with the Foreskin Revolution.”

circumcision awareness

Anthony is one of the rare men that have sought out and located the doctor that performed his circumcision. Even thought it was decades after the fact, Anthony found it crucial, and therapeutic, to express the impact that forced genital cutting can have on an individual. Many doctors go throughout their career with the thought “no one ever complained.”  This doctor would no longer have that defense. Anthony was interviewed on this experience while at a conference in Helsinki, Finland by videographer James Loewen. The video of that interview can be seen here. https://youtu.be/GK6wEGu8IEU

While advocacy is serious work, Anthony can also be found at parades getting into costume to raise awareness with his fellow intactivists, along with other events to make intactivism fun and engaging.

Acacia O’Connor writing in “She Knows Media – The Anti-Circumcision Movement Is Gaining Momentum” said: “Anthony is blue. No, he is literally blue. Nude except for a pair of speedo bathing trunks, Losquadro is getting his body painted for the 2018 Coney Island Mermaid Parade (to promote foreskin awareness.)”

He’s been humorously called “A man that’s passionate about his penis” by NY Post columnist Andrea Peyser, and also described as a “gallant chauffeur” of Intaction’s mobile education vehicle by writer Charlotte Shane of Fusion.
